"DISTRESS OF NATIONS WITH PERPLEXITY"
IN LIGHT OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
A POETIC LETTER FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
By Douglas C. Nesbit, B.A.

The following observations, insights, views and suggested possibilities are those
set forth personally by the Editor to answer questions from our friends, and
in a spirit of concerned love to all.

In reading recent news reports, it seemed appropriate,
Your Editor should focus Bible roots on present hate,
And state some background history, which ought to carry weight,
But may conveniently be lost, in heat of fierce debate.

Prophetic times, age-long foretold, are rushing into view.
God's people want stability from words their fathers knew,
The Spirit spoke. But few will hear if deafened by the voice,
Of preachers of smooth things, deceits, selected as their choice.

God's Love, reciprocated, is His Plan's priority,
But Man must choose each step he takes from God's Authority,
Else evil comes. So Laws will guide the Wise along this way.
We cannot judge, for we've not seen His final Judgment Day.

Designer of all history, creating light and dark, *(1)
The LORD of Peace must also create evil times and stark.
And not a sparrow falls without Our Father, Who does see!
By Jesus' hand, Creation holds existence, totally.

With consternation, we beheld as horrors flared of late.
Yes! To bereaved the sympathy of all must flow in spate.
As each must pass the private hour of silent grief and pain,
Before time's mark tolls twelve o'clock, and doves take flight again.

By one man, sin entered the world, and death by sin, we read,
As Romans five, verse twelve reveals, death passed on all his seed.
However Scripture's principles may guide the Wise to know,
That Resurrection's Trumpet Call is in God's Plans also.

Satanic interference may play havoc with the world;
God's Vineyard, to which Satan and his followers were hurled.
His minions, evil husbandmen may govern for their span, *(2)
Till householder returns to winnow tenants with His fan!

Now what of Bible record, may we learn about our case?
We know the ancient stories of our Patriarchs and Grace,
We learn of ancient promises God kept so long ago,
Should we not seek among them now, the present times to know?

The Promised Land of Canaan holds a focus all its own,
For three religions now contest Moriah's sacred stone. *(3)
The record of God's People there holds many marks of shame,
But Gentiles' Times had ended, so the First World War now came.

God's prophesied appointment brought Jerusalem's release, *(4)
To Britain's Empire forces led by Allenby, and Peace.
Assistance was provided by the Arabs, who were told,
"Word of an Englishman", we'll let you rule within our fold.

But even then a deal was struck, unknown to those abroad,
The Balfour Declaration would begin a secret fraud. *(5)
The "Homeland" set before the Jews would undermine all trust;
Initiate a process which conveyed a lethal thrust.

Before D-Day assault might fail, Stern terrorists would slay,
Police of Britain's Mandate, thus to claim a victor's stay. *(6)
Such acts, though at the time deplored, would later yield acclaim,
Bear upwards to Prime Minister, their leaders, to their shame.

Now as I viewed the image of twin-towers, (falling hell!),
I also saw a distant land where instant death befell,
Those ninety-one, Brit, Arab, Jew, in offices which bore,
The monarch's name of one who purchased Or-nan's threshing floor. *(7)

Repeating "Terror!", media note fully what is done.
The "terrorists" must suffer by our rockets and the gun.
Yet, hearing this, we bring to mind a day that saw the scene,
Of harmless village families who dwelt at Dir Yassin.

Two hundred, fifty-four, were slain. Their corpses may have filled, *(8)
The village well, to terrorize all neighbours not yet killed.
Their Palestine was forfeit with the savage frightful blow,
Conveniently forgotten now. "It was so long ago!"

The scales of Justice sagged to mark uncompensated sin,
Awaiting God's Assizes when His Judgments will begin.
Those victims' blood cries from the earth, and poor foundation makes
To raise a state which prides itself on claiming all it takes.

Beware! A burning fuse was lit, in memory far and near,
In Islam, Africa, and more, as many dropped a tear.
But "be assured", false shepherds of the Christian flocks would lie.
They are "God's Chosen Ones", and thus "The Apple of His Eye!"

"We must observe to patronize, and bless them though they sin,
For God will curse us if we would neglect to bless our kin."
Yet, strangely, when the more we bless, God's wrath besets us round.
(In Second Chronicles nineteen, verse two, an answer's found!) *(9)

Christ had another name for them, and should we say it now?
But then, all honest Scripture readers know it well, I vow.
We have allowed our birthright to succumb to Esau's line;
Our blessings to be plucked by every crow that seeks to dine.

We don't need Esau's pottage, which he bought so long ago,
And certainly we do not want the tares he seeks to sow.
The name of terror is applied by those who do not know,
The history of all which came before this present woe.

We have permitted Esau's brood to filch our birthright name,
And raised the ire of Ishmael to play another's game.
By want of knowledge, we are slain, and yet we know it not.
For infiltration speaks our ruin, through an ancient plot.

We are the ones whose ancestors were captive, then were freed,
To feel east-winds and drift therewith, as Isaac's promised "seed."
We came by sea or verdant valley, halting, and again,
We moved as driven by God's Hand, in ways He did ordain.

Of hundreds, Twenty-five, in years, and then add twenty more,
The sum of exile of those clans, while Gomer's stamp they wore.
But though they knew not whence they came, and ancestry forgot,
God did not lose a single grain, with miracles He wrought.

How came we now, to offer up, upon another shore,
A bloody sacrifice on rocks as in those days of yore?
Did Ishmael, with patience sapped, strike tribal life for life,
Or was it Edom's secret sin, provoking others' strife?

May kind men die in serving evil purposes? Why yes!
When malice directs ignorance, it cuts a bloody mess.
Cui bono is a question which a jury must have aired.
And judgment should not guilt pronounce, ere evidence is bared.

In summing up, the coin is this: There's blame enough to share.
Did profiteers and bankers create wars, without a care?
Did British Ministers play false, with Ishmael for gain?
Did Esau fake him Jacob, Isaac's blessing to regain?

Did shepherds nod and all agree to validate his claim,
Thus to preserve their pulpit stance with popular acclaim?
Did Zionists agree to forge a bloody prophecy?
Fulfill Ezekiel at eleven, fifteenth verse, which see!

Retaliation is an ancient right that many claim,
The Hammurabi Code of Law states "execute the same."
Do we claim "terror", where we ought to note "retaliate"?
It makes a frightful difference, if cowards fail to state.

Do media moguls note with care their butter on their bread,
Seek advertising dollars; edit as the owner said?
Did Ishmael design to shock America for naught?
Or did another hand prepare the blow, that no one sought?

Do planned defeats and mergers mark Great Babylon's last play,
To serve Satanic insolence against God's Kingdom sway?
Does there exist elitist masterstroke to claim all lands,
Through Government enforced retreat from Freedom's feisty hands?

It seems far-fetched, but could it be that those in charge have planned,
Increasing tests of public trust by shocks, which fury fanned;
Emergencies which make excuse to clamp an iron hand,
While misdirecting public glare against a distant land?

In Revelation eighteen, read a preview prophecy,
A city, rich with trade that burns, and all afar will see.
Within one-hour, double, to accord with whoredom's cup,
Great Babylon has fallen, and destruction she must sup,

God's Justice waits the hour decreed, but not one-second more
When every secret sin's revealed, to tally up the score.
We pray for Justice, but we seek a mighty two-edged sword!
Can any claim his innocence before Our Hallowed LORD?

God's Word reveals a vital prayer which all His own must pray,
Thus if His people, of His name, shall come and humbly say,
They seek His face, turn from all sin, then He will hear, forgive,
And heal their land of every guilt, disease, and all shall live. *(10)

*1 - God is the designer of all history: (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3).
Isaiah 45:7 -" I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the
LORD do all these things."
Jesus is the means by which all things were made: (John 1:1-3), and nothing happens
without the Father (Matthew 10:29).

*2 - MATTHEW 21:33-45:
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it
round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen,
and went into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the
husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. 35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and
beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again, he sent other servants more than the
first: and they did unto them likewise. 37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They
will reverence my son. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves,
This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him,
and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. 40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh,
what will he do unto those husbandmen? 41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those
wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits
in their seasons. 42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the
builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is
marvellous in our eyes? 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from
you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on
this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 45 And when
the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

*3 - Temple Mount, formerly site of Abraham offering Isaac, and Or-nan's threshing
floor. Purchased by King David, whose royal descendants have never sold it.

*4 - 604 BC-1917 AD=2520 years (7 "times" of 360). 622 AD-1917 AD=1335 lunar years.

*5 - Chaim Weizmann, a chemist, and later first president of the State of Israel, was
recruited during the First World War by Winston Churchill, then First Lord
of the Admiralty, to devise a process for acetone, a vital ingredient of munitions.
Because of Weizmann's contribution to the war effort, the Balfour Declaration,
Britain's commitment to a Jewish National Home was promulgated.

*6 - 121 British Palestine Police died in the years leading up to the British yielding
the Mandate over to the United Nations. For example, The New York Times of
March 26, 1944, front page and page 17, carried an article which recounted 6
police assassinated, twelve wounded, in one night alone. The Stern Gang was blamed.
In November 1944, two members of the group assassinated Lord Moyne.
Yitzhak Shamir later took over as a leader following the shooting of Avraham Stern
on February 12, 1942. Towards the end of 1943, Menahem Begin became leader of
Irgun Zeva'i Le'ummi and a truce of underground activities was declared.
Many Jews were upset by the activities of Jewish extremists on their behalf, and opposed them.

*7 - 95 died and 46 were injured in the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, on July 22,
1946, when seven milk cans filled with explosives were placed around the central pillar
of the building and set to go off in 35 minutes. The dead included 28 Britons, 41 Arabs
and 17 Jews. Other reports varied, one setting the figure at 91 dead, another at 123
dead.

*8 - In April 1948, Irgun and Sternists units attacked the Arab village of Dir Yassin,
killing 254 men, women and children.

*9 - II Chronicles 19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him,
and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate
the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

*10 - II Chronicles 7:14:
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
